Oakwood Fisheries is a stunning five acre mature tree lined lake created in 1862 for the local chateau.
It is nestled deep in the heart of the Breton countryside but within easy reach of all the main ferry ports. St Malo is the nearest being only 1 hour 20 minutes away, then you have Caen 2 hours 3o minutes and Calais is around 5 hours.
Oakwood has 7 purpose built large wood chipped swims each one carefully designed to provide interesting features to fish to.
It’s a real carp anglers dream with gravel plateaux’s, islands, over hanging trees, lily pads and controlled weed beds.
The average depth of the lake is between 5 -7 feet and the lake bed consists of clay, gravel and silt.
The banks are easily accessible and car access to the swims is permitted to unload your tackle upon arrival.
The lake can accommodate 4 anglers and allows plenty of space to move swims.
The whole estate of 19 acres is fully fenced and on-going fishery management has seen the lake rejuvenated back to its best after the lake had been left to the elements for generations.
During your visit you can also observe the abundance of natural wildlife, everything from deer to red squirrels and black kites all reside at Oakwood.
